About Our Host

IMG_5124Damon and Patricia – Damon and Patricia were our hosts while we were on our Cape Canaveral, Florida adventure. It was great to finally meet her after emailing back and forth with her so much. Everybody there was so nice to us. Damon even did an online class from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida with our school all the way back in California. It was unbelivable. Damon does several of those classes a week with schools all across the country. Damon, Patricia and all of the NASA family were great hosts and we can’t thank them enough.

This was a very special adventure for us because we got to travel to the Kennedy Space Center with our whole family.  We were invited by NASA to attend the launch of the Space Shuttle!  We travelled to Florida and NASA showed us all around the Space Center.  On the day before the launch we were a part of a Skype call back home to all of the students at Ava & Jakob’s Elementary School.  All of our friends were able to talk to us and our new friends at NASA. They had the chance to ask all kinds of questions about the Space Program.  It was so cool!  On the day of the launch we rode a big bus  to the launch site.  When we were riding past the building that houses the shuttle we couldn’t believe how tall it was!  We watched the launch from the grandstands, it was so awesome and exciting!  This was one of our best adventures so far!
