About Our Host

54 LauraLaura – We were invited to Washington D.C. and hosted by Laura. Laura works at an insurance provider that works with businesses all over the world. Laura was a great host. She took us all around Washington and helped us learn about some of the most important places in our country. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer host and we can’t wait to go back and visit her again. Thanks Laura!

We were very excited to have the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C.,our nation’s capital.  We visited the Washington Monument which was very impressive.  The National Mall was our next stop.  It is a large, open park area in the center of the city and often hosts political protests and demonstrations.  Luckily none were taking place on the day of our visit.  One of our favorite sites to see was the Lincoln Memorial, which is where Dr. Martin Luther King delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech on August 28, 1963.  The National Zoo was also very cool.  We also had the opportunity to visit the Eastern Market which is located in Capitol Hill and is known as the unofficial town center.  It was built in 1873 by order of President Thomas Jefferson.  We did a lot of great shopping here. We loved visiting our nation’s capital and can’t wait to go back. N & S
