About Our Host

Greg & JoLeene, our New York travelersGreg and JoLeene – We traveled to New York with Greg & Joleene.  As you know they are usually working on the website with Ava, Jakob and us, so traveling with them was a special treat.  Although the trip was only three days it was fun for us to be on the adventure together.  The only thing that would have made it better was if Ava and Jakob could have been with us, but we understand school comes first.  We were glad that they let us come with them on their quick anniversary getaway.

New York was awesome! We stayed in Manhattan, New York and because our trip was so short we didn’t really have time to explore anywhere else. We have decided that New York must be the center of the universe because it seems like everything happens there. Everything from banking to fashion to television to the world. It also seems like the city that never sleeps. We were only there for three days but what an incredible three days it was. While there we visited the 911 / World Trade Center Memorial. That is where the Twin Towers once stood and in September of 2001 over 2750 people died when the buildings were destroyed by terroists. It is a very special place and in 2020 a new building will stand called The Freedom Tower. We met a lot of great people there including police and port authority officers. We also visited the Statue of Liberty, the United Nations, and Wall Street where the New York Stock Exchange is. We also visited Time Square, Grand Central Station and traveled on the subway. New York was a fascinating place full of history and culture.  We can not wait to go back! N & S
