About Our Host

N&S checking out the arrival board with Aunt Rachel, their flight is all gone

Rachel – Rachel was our host on our Dresden, Germany adventure. She is actually from the United States but has been living in Germany for a long time. She is a professor at a university in Germany ( Institüt für Alttestamentliche Wissenschaft, Universität Leipzig). We spent so much time with Rachel and were there so long she became like an aunt to us. So we call her Aunt Rachel now. We had so much fun with Aunt Rachel.

Our hostess in Germany made us feel so welcome.  She loved taking care of us, so we felt right at home.  We were able to visit so many interesting places in Dresden!  It was cold and snowy while we were there.  One thing we are learning on our adventures is that no matter what state or country you live in or visit, people are pretty much the same everywhere.  Our visit to Germany really proved that.  They sit down to family dinners, have chores, and school and work just like our family.  The language may be different, but we all live our lives pretty much the same.  This made us feel good.
