About Our Host

We loved meeting the students

The Haiti Endowment Fund – Our hosts on our Haiti adventure was The Haiti Endowment Fund. They are a group of nurses, doctors, pastors, construction workers and more who donate their time to help the people of Haiti rebuild. The group has people volunteer their free time from hosipatals, companies and churches like ours. They all are great people and we felt honored and humbled to be a part of it.

It wasn’t as long a plane ride from Miami to Haiti as we thought it would be.  It only took about  one and a half hours.  Not bad since Haiti is 681 miles away from Florida.  During our travels in Haiti we quickly found out that not very many roads are paved, they are all pretty much just dirt.  In fact only 628 miles of all the roads are paved.  This made for some very bumpy rides!  We had a great time visiting an elementary school.  Hopefully our visit will encourage these students to continue their education by learning all they can and staying in school.
