About Our Host

Christie – In Iowa we were hosted by Christy and her family. While we were there we spent time with her family in Lytton, Sac City and Des Moines. Her entire family was very nice to us and showed us a lot of Iowa. They love to read and while we were there we even learned that the Dr. Seuss book, Green Eggs and Ham is one of their favorites. We want to thank them again for being so nice.

Wow, Lytton, Iowa is a really, really small town, but we had a really great time with our hosts!  We visited Sac County which is the home of the world’s largest popcorn ball! Really!  It weights 2, 225 pound and is quite a sight to see.  One of our adventures took us to Des Moines to attend the Iowa State Fair.  There was so much to see while we were there!  Two things we will never forget are the Butter Cow and Buster the Champion Super Bull.  The Butter Cow is a sculpture of a cow made completely out of butter.  Amazing!  Buster, the Super Bull, was ginormous, weighing in at a hefty 3,022 pounds.  We felt really small while looking at him.  Agriculture is the main business in this state, and we were fortunate to be able to visit some of the corn and soy bean fields.  Our visit to Lytton proved to be interesting, educational, and most of all fun.
